Status

Construction is planned to begin in 2019. This is after the following steps are completed: a) parliamentary approval of the project, b) signing a loan agreement, c) procurement of contractors and supervision consultant, and d) provision of support to residents affected by or relocated because of the project. Construction work is concentrated during the dry season. During the rainy season heavy equipment cannot move on local roads, but instead granular materials are transported to the site by barge and stockpiled ready for the dry season.
